Back Log

Some other films I’ve watched recently (and enjoyed) that I will probably never write about are:

Kurt Cobain: About a Son (2006, different, but very powerful)

Pete’s Dragon (1977, Disney, a classic from my childhood)

Sweeney Todd (2007)

Northern Exposure (1991+, TV series)

Dexter (2006+)

Slings and Arrows (2003+, Canadian TV series about a Shakespeare Festival, fun)

The Seventh Seal (1957)

Pink Floyd: The Wall (1982)

Taxi Driver (1976)

The King of Comedy (1983, DeNiro/Scorsese–VERY funny)

Pi: Faith in Chaos (1998)

Requiem for a Dream (2000, disturbing and nightmare-enducing)

The Lawnmower Man (1992)

Into The Wild (2007)

Tideland (2005, creepy Terry Gilliam)

Alan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold (1987, a classic from my childhood)

  1. Aw, c’mon, write about The Lawnmower Man and Alan Quartermain. Please? We need more serious thought and criticism of films featuring Jeff Fahey, you know? And didn’t Allan Quarterman feature Sharon “I Botox my own children’s feet” Stone as the female lead?

C’mon, Cindy. Lay the critical smackdown on Lawnmower Man.

  2. I’d love to write about a few of these, actually, I just happened to have watched many of these months ago. I’ll see if I can dig deep into the memory banks and make a withdrawal.
